Learning Healthy Life Lessons
December 27, 2022

Two children, Marvina and Joyce, shared their stories with us. Marvina said, “I learned to be a healthy child. When I wake up, I wash and do my hair, look in the mirror, and say I am beautiful, I am loved, and I will live this day and be happy. I have to take care of my appearance, wear clean clothes, and eat healthy food.”
Joyce told us, “After I participated in the lesson, I now wake up, play sports, wash my hands and face, keep my nails short and clean, brush my teeth, go to school, study, do homework, listen to the words of the teacher and Mama and Papa, and love my friends.”
When we asked them if they used to do this before the Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons, Marvina explained, “I wasn’t doing those things, no, but now I will live as a healthy child. I also shared this lesson with my mother, my sisters, and my friend.” Joyce shared, “I didn’t wash my hands before eating, and I didn’t care about my appearance, but now I will live as a healthy child, drink clean water, do exercises every day, and eat vegetables and fruits.”
We continue to teach TCD lessons at Ezbit El Amir Village, and we presented a lesson about frustration, its causes, and how to overcome it. One woman in the group shared her personal difficulties. Umm Maria said, “I am a widow and have two daughters. I have a difficult time and difficult circumstances in my life because I take care of my children, and I also care for my father and mother, who are old.”
Thank you,
