A Feast Turns into TCD Lesson
February 3, 2023

The end of the year is usually characterised by celebration and festivities, including feasts for the people of Batemone. It was therefore a great time for Sayi, a Transformational Community Development (TCD) worker, to remind the villagers how to keep their meals, fruits, and vegetables fit for consumption without the danger of causing food poisoning and other diseases. Sayi taught them, especially women, safe food handling techniques and proper hand washing.
The Health Committee also met and decided that the Ventilation Improved Pit (VIP) latrine project will continue in January. The hole has been dug and construction is about to start. Locals are excited about progress and hope it will be completed before the end of the first quarter.
Thank you!
