Updating Documents
February 3, 2023
This month, we did an awareness program on government resources available for villagers. The West Bengal government has started a special drive for the correction and modification of essential government documents like ration cards, voter cards, land patta (ownership and loan) registration (sometimes referred to as the land deed registration), healthcare cards, and various other documents. Most families in the region have many discrepancies in their documents and are therefore left out of government programs. We took time to help families fill out and submit the forms to the respective departments during our times together. Usually, the villagers would not come forward to help correct their documents, and I would be all alone filling out their forms. This year was better, though, and most families came to help.
Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update

Food
There is no separate committee for food, but villagers are aware they need to eat a balanced diet.

Education
There is no separate Education Committee, but children are going to school regularly. Most of the students soon have their final exam, and we hope they will do well. The committee is finding it difficult to find another tutor since the last one left.
Thank you!
