The Community Helps a Poor Individual
With the help of GHNI, Ripon Murmu installed a tubewell in his house.
Asok* lives alone. His parents are dead. There were three brothers in his family. The elder brother lives in his father-in-law’s house. The middle brother died. Asok is the youngest and now lives alone. He works as a daily wage laborer to earn a living.
Due to his financial problems, Asok could not install a tubewell for himself at home. He used to bring water from other people’s houses to cook and do other things. It was very inconvenient for him to bring water from other people’s houses every day. He tried a lot but could not install a tubewell.
But, since there is a Transformational Community Development (TCD) project in their village, the TCD committee helped him with the funds from GHNI to install a new tubewell at his house. Now he does not have to depend on other people’s tubewells anymore, he can collect water for his use whenever he wants.
He thanks the TCD committee and GHNI very much. He is very grateful to them for this help. Now he is very happy.
*For the purpose of safety and wellbeing, “Asok” is a pseudonym for the individual being helped by this project.
Thank you!
