Villagers Learn to Make Pig Feed
March 10, 2023
Pi Pat, the potential Village Champion in Mae Pa Pai, went around the community to promote the upcoming pig feed training. Our Transformational Community Development (TCD) team partnered with local agriculture experts to put on a training for the community on how to make nutritious food for pigs largely from materials that are found on a farm or are easy to source locally. The training was important because many of the villagers raise pigs and spend a lot of money each month buying feed from the store. During the training, which was attended by about 20 people, we asked how they will know if the system works. A few people, including the Village Chief shared about creating an “experimental group” and a “control group” so they could compare the results. We were very impressed with his response and encouraged the community to share their results with one another.
Also, in Mae Pa Pai, our local Thai teammate found multiple potential buyers who are willing to purchase some of the products that the weaving committee has made. We are working now to set up meetings to discuss this further.
Thank you!
