I taught the community to be self-sustaining when it comes to food, to eat vitamin- and protein-rich foods, and to feed children a vitamin- and nutrient-balanced diet. I have taught about kitchen gardening, and for the community members’ inspiration, I gave them vegetable seeds. I also encouraged them to buy a variety of vegetable seeds and plant them in the garden. This is a suitable season for mustard, garlic, onions, and carrots. Most of the community families have grown their own food with the seeds.

I continued to meet with committee members, reminded them of their responsibility, and encouraged them to do the TCD work.

Balapuspika* lives in Ramantar Village, and she has a beautiful family of six members. She had no family income source, so it was very difficult to manage family members’ basic needs and expenses. She was very upset because of financial problems, but when she joined the TCD classes and learned the lessons, she wanted to be involved in Income Generation. TCD supported her with seed money, and she started to keep goats. She started with three baby goats, and now she has eight. She is very happy because she raised a family income source. Now she has added poultry too. By keeping goats and poultry, her family has been able to manage family expenses, and she says that it is all because of TCD that she is able to live sustainably. She wants to give thanks to GHNI for the help.
