Life-Changing Transformation in Business, Literacy, & Education
March 17, 2024
In Effaho, more women have joined the Effaho Cooperative for Business Women, with the majority being in the palm oil production business. The women report that their businesses are growing and they are making more profit. With Teti and Funmi’s (Teti’s wife) coaching, the women are having a mind shift and are very open to the transformational principles being shared with them through Transformational Community Development (TCD).
Recently, Funmi and Teti began to discuss the need for Education in order to enhance their business capabilities. They will begin to attend literacy classes in the coming week to learn how to read and write French as well as basic numeracy. The female leaders in Effaho now join Funmi and Teti to sensitize the women about the benefits of Education and to encourage them to enroll in the literacy classes that are about to commence. Interesting conversations have been taking place, as women ask very insightful questions, showing their desire to learn. The teachers in the Effaho primary school have agreed to teach the women’s class twice a week for two hours each day. Truly, Effaho women are experiencing life-changing transformational change.
In Attakassikro, the school expansion project is ongoing. The clearing of the new site is in progress and building materials, like sand and gravel, have been obtained for the molding of additional bricks. Though the work encountered delays for several reasons and may not be completed within the timelines scheduled by the Education Committee, the locals are in high spirits and are looking forward to the completion of the project. The school’s Directors Office building is nearing completion, with only the plastering of the walls and flooring left. The Attakassikro community’s attitude and actions demonstrate a high level of involvement and participation, a necessary ingredient for sustainable development. It is encouraging to note that TCD, with the mobilization efforts of Teti and the Education Committee, made this happen in Attakassikro.
Thank you!
