Cyclone Solutions
May 6, 2024
This quarter, I am continuing Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons on safe water for drinking and the use of herbal remedies to control blood sugar and blood pressure. I also gave 12 lessons on the hygienic way of using the toilet and bathroom. One family has built a bathroom and toilet after these lessons on awareness.
One extra initiative I have taken is with the Binodpur committee. To protect our environment and overcome power outages, we have decided to use small solar systems. Our village is in a cyclone-prone area, and after the cyclones, it takes almost a week to get electricity back. The small solar system can charge mobile phones and flashlights, and through this system, people can use three, nine-watt light bulbs. Today, we have purchased 17 systems, and next week we are going to hand them out. We are also continuing the computer tutoring center.
Next quarter, we plan to focus on Income Generation and TCD training on Gangasagar Island, along with continuing our present activities.
