New VIP Latrines Ready for Use

The locals of Yelivo are so grateful for the Transformational Community Development (TCD) initiatives. They were all in high spirits as the VIP Latrines built in the village courtesy of TCD were being officially opened. Most latrines are smelly and full of flies. But with VIP latrines, the ventilation pipe carries odors out of the latrine. Flies or mosquitoes fly up the pipe toward the light, but are trapped by the wire mesh, so they fall back into the pit to die. We encouraged the locals to ensure that the toilets are properly maintained.
For agriculture, the locals led by the Agriculture Committee are working towards their goal of having a community owned ginger farm, so far 30000 CFA has been raised which will be used for the purchase of ginger rhizomes, but it is still insufficient because of the rising cost of ginger. The locals are relentless and will not stop until their goal is achieved. We encouraged them to keep at it and are hopeful that the ginger farm will be a reality.
Thank you!
