Sanitizing Water is Important for Health
In Birini Village, our Transformational Community Development (TCD) effort for the month was focussed on health and sanitation. The primary sources of water for the locals are the river and a well in the village. The well water looked cleaner but had sediments and we noticed that they usually used the water without any form of treatment making them vulnerable to diseases and infections. We taught some of the local women how to boil and filter the water before drinking. The Chief also joined us at the well when the lesson was going on. We hope that as the locals practice what we have taught, the prevalence of waterborne diseases will be reduced.
Thank you!
