Despite Setbacks, Villagers Try Again

Inspired by the hope that training gave them, the villagers want to keep trying to become self-sustainable.

The condition of the Mawa Transformational Community Development (TCD) community in the past few months began to improve as they developed an Income Generation program by raising four sows for the future development of the community’s economy.

Problems arose in the past two months. The farm in Mawa was attacked by disease/viruses again and several pigs died including three of the four TCD sows and their offspring. They had started to have hope for a successful pig farm, but now only one sow remains.

The condition of the TCD committee started to weaken again because of this situation. However, they are expressing a desire for more lessons from the TCD training team to help them through these difficult times.
