In the village of Maisha Bora, where poverty once limited every opportunity, a quiet revolution began when the women’s sales group embraced Transformational Community Development (TCD). Through both practical and discussion-based learning, residents identified Income Generation as a key barrier to development. With guidance from TCD facilitators, the community organized savings groups, launched training in small business skills, and initiated cooperative ventures such as soap making, goat rearing, and local handicrafts. What made this shift unique was that every step—from planning to execution—was led by the women themselves.

Today, families once dependent on aid are now running sustainable businesses and supporting their children’s education. Household incomes have grown, financial literacy has improved, and a culture of saving and collaboration has taken root. The transformation is visible not just in the markets but in the pride of women and youth who now see themselves as contributors to the local economy. The women’s sales group journey stands as a powerful testimony: when a community takes ownership of its economic future, real and lasting change follows. Through TCD, self-reliance has replaced dependency, and hope now fuels every venture.
