Fowl Frenzy

Raising chickens is creating opportunities for brighter futures.

The Transformational Community Development (TCD) program teaches a wide variety of topics, and this month’s lesson on how to provide your family with antibiotic-free meat was notably important.

“My name is Chynara, and I am a primary school teacher. My husband is a driver, and we have five children, so for me, raising broiler chickens has become a good experience. I teach this to my children so that in the future they can apply it in their lives. I share my experience with colleagues and neighbors.”

“My name is Baktygul, and I am a high school teacher. My husband and I have three children, and our grandfather lives with us. He is a local mullah (Muslim teacher). Our children are all students, and I raise chickens for them. They live in a big city where everything is expensive. It is difficult for government workers to support students. Our whole family is happy with this opportunity. In the future, I want to raise more chickens and learn how to do it well.”

Thank you!
