Poverty is not just the absence of money, it’s the absence of opportunity, voice, and access. Transformational Community Development (TCD) begins when we create systems, mindsets, and support that empower people to rise above this.”

Shehrnaz* lives in the village of Khipro, and she and her husband were struggling for the last few years with her children. Shehrnaz said, “Since I was married, I was in financial struggles. My husband used to work, but he was getting only a small income which was not enough for my family. Now when I started taking part in TCD training and became part of the Self-Help group, I found many opportunities.

“My mindset has changed that there are a lot of opportunities available in my own village to Generate Income. From my childhood, I knew how to make bed sheets. I took a loan from my group and started working at home by making the bed sheets. In the beginning, it was not easy, but I saw things were getting better and I started earning money. My family was happy that we were now getting enough money to survive. If we avail ourselves to use the opportunities and change our mindset, our struggles become transformed.”
