Never Too Old

Taking several steps out of her comfort zone, one woman discovers she can do more than she thought.

Being advanced in age did not discourage 69-year-old Mama Mamie from being passionate about actively participating in Transformational Community Development (TCD). Though she relies on her children for most of her upkeep and maintenance, she wanted to do something other than farming that could empower her to play a role in meeting her own needs.

After engaging with TCD training, she decided to start a business in order to supplement her income. Despite her age, she began a new trade, growing her livelihood, and has been so proud of what she has been able to achieve so far.

TCD inspired her to believe that even at her age she could be a productive member of her community and contribute to the Income Generation efforts of her family.
