The most precious thing in this world is a smile on a child’s face. Recently, our team and the Village Committee decided to organize kids’ games among our school children. They have never been to any park or anything outside of their village. It was really fun learning through the games. One child said, “Today is a beautiful day, and I have never enjoyed a day like today, ever before.” The Head of the village was very pleased that children were enjoying their fun day, and their parents were also happy.
Water is most important for humans. Everywhere around the globe, Transformational Community Development’s (TCD) first key goal is safe, clean water for drinking, cooking and washing. Our aim is to provide clean and safe drinking water to the community at their doorstep. After the TCD lessons, in the Village Committee meeting we decided to make a water well in the village to meet the need for accessible water. With help of our GHNI Team and Village Committee, the well was built in the village. A woman said, “Before, we used to walk a mile to bring water and I carried it on my head, but through this training, we came to know that we can do anything. Thank you for helping us!”
Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update
TCD© is GHNI’s coaching-based process for helping villages transform themselves and break the cycle of extreme poverty.
Water
There was a lack of clean drinking water in the village and the committee played a key role in bringing a water line to the village.
Education
According to UNICEF, 58% of poor children are out of school. Currently, we have six schools in villages. We are taking the initiative to provide basic education for these children so that a healthy community can be formed.
Thank you!
