Shri Ambra is a small rural community where most families depend on farming for their livelihood. Their income depends largely on rainfall, and during weak or irregular monsoon seasons, it becomes very difficult for families to manage their daily needs. In such a situation, many young people continue in the same cycle, as they are not aware of other opportunities. However, the community members have a strong desire to improve their situation and are willing to work hard when given the right direction.

Through Transformational Community Development (TCD), community members were encouraged to think about their future, identify their strengths, and take small but meaningful steps forward. Kalidas, a young man from a financially weak family, took this encouragement seriously. With TCD staff acting as coaches and guides, he decided on his own to join a mechanic training program. This was a big step for him, as it required courage to move beyond his usual way of life. Now, Kalidas is not only learning a new skill but is also ready to take another community member along with him and share what he learns, showing responsibility and leadership within his community.

This change clearly shows the impact of TCD in Shri Ambra. The progress is being led by the community members themselves, while TCD plays the role of guiding and encouraging them. Kalidas’s journey tells us that when people are given the right vision and support, they are ready to take initiative and work towards a better future. His efforts are inspiring others, and this is helping the community move towards self-reliance and long-term development.
