Brussels, 10/10/2024 – E-LAB: CITY 5.0 has emerged victorious at the RES4CITY STARTUP EUROPE ACCELERATHON, held on October 8, 2024 at the Albert Borschette Congress Center during the European Week of the Regions and Cities in Brussels Belgium. The winning team, comprised of Matías Esoín, Jordi Sánchez, María Morillas, and Celia Sánchez, impressed judges with their innovative solution aimed at optimizing electric vehicle (EV) charging through intelligent, sustainable technologies.
This pioneering project focuses on transforming urban infrastructure by integrating smart technologies, sustainable energy solutions, and IoT-based monitoring systems. E-LAB’s initiative aims to install EV charging stations and public bike-sharing docks, enhance urban spaces, and implement a real-time monitoring system for public and private infrastructure to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs. Their approach features a hybrid financing model that combines urban advertising with infrastructure development, ensuring financial sustainability.
As the winners, the team receives the European Acceleration Ticket, providing them the opportunity to apply for European funding to advance their project. The Finnova Foundation, the event organizer, will guide them in turning their proposal into a pilot program eligible for EU funding, as well as offer support to showcase their innovation at relevant events.
It was an honor to present Global Hope Network International (GHNI) to participants at the European Week of the Regions and Cities, held at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium, on October 8, 2024.
GHNI is proud to be a partner in the RES4CITY Start Up Europe project, which is dedicated to enhancing the skills of students and workforce members in order to facilitate the green transition and support a low-carbon economy.
