Addressing hardships for students led to a step forward for four grateful students.
The story of Kouvome Community would be incomplete without the initiative of Transformational Community Development (TCD) activities. This first quarter has recorded measurable progress. In the past, apparently because of the poor financial condition of parents, a lot of students were without uniforms. It was quite demeaning because students would have their schoolmates make fun of them, creating quite a scene out of it.
With the help of the TCD program, the community rose to the challenge of addressing such a hardship by putting resources together to buy school uniforms for those children. Early this year, four female students were given uniforms. The joy on their faces knew no bounds, and they were thankful to the TCD initiative.
Having heard that an external organization wanted to give aid by constructing a borehole for the community, the Water Committee and the chief held a meeting. The essence of the meeting was to know how they could be involved in the project. At the end of their meeting, they decided to contribute sand, manpower, food, and transportation. The chief also gave his full support.
At the end of this quarter, more young people have volunteered to help in TCD activities, and therefore, more committees have been created.
Thank you!
