Villagers Learn Importance of Leadership
Maintaining sustainability requires the village to develop leaders for the next generation.
This month, the Mawa Village Transformational Community Development (TCD) committee held a meeting for a sharing session, and the GHNI training team was invited to attend. After the sharing session, a GHNI trainer provided a lesson related to preparing the community to be self-sustaining, since the TCD project is coming to a close later this year.
The theme of the lesson was, “Without Leadership, the Community Flounders.” In response to the lesson, Yazeed*, a member of the village TCD committee, immediately invited the committee to work hard and unite to maintain the sustainability of the TCD project. He said, “We have learned a lot in the training process and throughout the project, and have received mentoring through moral lessons. That is why we, the committee, continuously strive to apply the things we have learned and experienced about the goals of TCD so that the community and the TCD mindset will continue to be sustainable, not only during our time of leadership, but also for the next generation, because as we have seen TCD principles truly benefit the community.”
*For the purpose of safety and wellbeing, “Yazeed” is a pseudonym for the individual being helped by this project.
Thank you,
