After more than 25 years of farming, Mama Sao was still struggling to survive due to consistently meager harvests. Her situation became even more challenging following the death of her husband two years ago—the person who had first introduced her to agriculture. As a result, she found it difficult to generate any sizable profit from farming.

Her fortunes began to change when she was introduced to Transformational Community Development (TCD) training on innovative agricultural practices. The training significantly improved her farm’s productivity through better techniques, practical skills, and access to resources better suited to her region. Today, Mama Sao takes great pride in her swamp farming. With the support of TCD, her harvests are now enough to meet her household’s needs, allowing her to sleep without hunger and enjoy a higher level of financial stability.
