Increased Community Yield

Adopting improved farming practices inspired sustainable change in Baromasia Village.

Baromasia female villager, Mr. Rajen, standing with his potato farm. - Increased Community Yield

Mr. Rajen, a farmer from Baromasia Village, is a strong example of how determination and the right guidance can transform livelihoods. His successful rabi crops (winter crops) clearly reflect the practical impact of Transformational Community Development (TCD) principles at the community level.

Before the TCD activity, Mr. Rajen depended on traditional farming methods that resulted in low productivity and unstable income. Limited knowledge, resources, and planning made it difficult for him to support his family consistently.

Through TCD training, he learned to apply improved agricultural practices and better planning in his farming. He used quality seeds, followed timely sowing, applied balanced fertilizers, and managed irrigation and weeding effectively. This transformation demonstrates the TCD principle of community members taking ownership of their own development.

As a result, Mr. Rajen achieved better crop growth and increased yield during the winter planting season, leading to higher household income and improved family stability. He plans to continue applying these principles and hopes to expand his farming while encouraging other farmers in his village to do the same.

Mr. Rajen’s story shows that meaningful and lasting change happens when people are empowered with knowledge and confidence. His progress matters because it inspires others in the community to believe in their own ability to improve their livelihoods.

To sustain and scale this progress, Mr. Rajen will benefit from continued technical guidance, access to improved inputs, and better irrigation support. With additional resources, he plans to increase productivity and share his learning with fellow farmers. This will help strengthen not only his family’s future but also the overall resilience of the community.
