The story of Sister Noel from Effaoho has been quite a source of motivation and inspiration to other women in her village since she began actively participating in Transformational Community Development (TCD) activities. As a member of the TCD Income Generation Committee, Noel started out as a palm oil producer benefiting from the processing machine and has now decided to diversify her portfolio by investing some of her profit into the buying and selling of charcoal. She is beginning this venture with about 30 bags of charcoal, which she hopes to transport to the nation’s capital of Abidjan and sell at an estimated sum of 3,000 CFA ($5) per bag.

Owing to her success, the Income Generation Committee has decided to purchase a small oil processing machine and a grinding machine for rice. This is to empower the community members of the seven villages surrounding theirs, who have to travel about 12 km to a distant village of Andempo to meet their processing needs.

This collaboration is an ode to TCD lessons inspiring the people to generate funds by meeting the needs of their neighbors and ensuring sustainable development.
