My name is Sakhi*. I am a daughter of a Transformational Community Development (TCD) group member. My mother’s name is Lopika*. There are a total of six members in my family. My family members are uneducated and did not know about the importance of Education. Our family are laborers for others because we are poor. Because of lack of funds for Education, they did not send me to school.

I learned the importance of Education through TCD lessons. My mother admitted that going to school is important. Now I am going to school regularly. I am studying in a private boarding school in Class Three. Now, my parents are very happy because they learned the importance of Education. GHNI has lit the light of Education in my family. There is a great change in my family. If the TCD program had not started in my village, I wouldn’t be going to school.
