The Smallest Troublemaker

A lesson on gossip leads one woman to be more careful with her words and intentions.

TCD participant, Wasfi, having a conversation. - The Smallest Troublemaker

Umm Peter, from the women’s Transformational Community Development (TCD) group in the village of Al Dawadia, is married and has a son and two daughters. She shared that she used to love gossiping, speaking badly about others, and spreading rumors, but after joining the TCD group and hearing the lesson about positive and negative speech and gossiping, she began to take steps to change. She learned, “The tongue is like fire because it is the smallest troublemaker.” We truly saw real change in Umm Peter, and she is still continuing to protect her tongue.
