Community Ownership is Key to Transformation

When villagers learn how to solve their own problems, they are filled with hope to better their lives.

Dapur villager, Punninna Hasada, standing with her educational books. - Community Ownership is Key to Transformation

Annam* is a resident of Rajapur Village. She is also a member of the Transformational Community Development (TCD) Rajapur Committee. She had the opportunity to attend the Training of TCD-1 training held in her village and learned a lot from that training, especially from the lesson “Building Community Ownership”. This lesson really touched his heart because it was completely new to her. The “Mountain Story” example was the easiest way to understand the main points. It taught her that Community Ownership is the most important in learning how to take decisions, how to find and solve any problem, and what kind of relationship is needed in each other to grow their community. Through this lesson, she understood completely. She also learned about staying healthy, helping each other, alleviating poverty, etc. She is really excited to apply what she learned through the training in the village. Many thanks to the TCD team for organizing this kind of training.

*For the purpose of safety and wellbeing, “Annam” is a pseudonym for the individual being helped by this project.
