20 Youths Graduate TCD Training
The vision of the village leaders is to train young people in skills to help transform their communities.
Amid uncertainty and complexity, the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program in Rakhine is still thriving. The Mro Youth Development Association (MYDA) has completed the first batch of their training program regardless of the many challenges they encountered during the training period. The Youth Development training has made a positive impact on the lives of more than 20 youth from various Mro communities. These graduated participants committed to serve their respective community.
MYDA was established by passionate youth leaders in order to promote community education and development among Mro villages. The association set up a three month’s youth development training program in the model TCD village of Myat Hlae. The training provides various skills such as English language, computer, and software skills. The leaders initiated partnership with GHNI as their vision is to bring transformation among their ethnicity. TCD leaders in the community give technical assistance to the training. Now, for the first batch, 20 young people were well-equipped to serve their respective communities.
Our plan is to support our champion and TCD leaders in Myat Hlae and to provide necessary help to the training as they start the second batch. Moreover, the leaders mentioned their desire to include TCD lessons in their course which would give the next generation the opportunity to learn Transformational Community Development.
Thank you,
