Learning the Difference

One girl realizes she does not want to be the “bad friend.”

TCD attendant, Jumana Sami, speaking in front of the class with a microphone. - Learning the Difference

We continued the Transformational Community Development (TCD) Program and had a lesson about choosing good friends. Jumana participated and said, “I used to walk with my friends from home to school every day. There were both good and bad friends. I quickly found myself learning wrong things from the bad friends, and I started talking like them. After I attended a TCD lesson about choosing friends, I started seeing myself as if I was looking in a mirror. I saw bad behaviors and words that I learned from them, so I decided that I would only be friends with good friends. Now I look at myself with respect, and I am happy that I am learning and changing for the better.”

Thank you,
