Expanding a planting field led to one man having enough produce for future sustainability.
For the last three months, we have been working on food issues in Baromasia Village. Mantu is a farmer who has a wife and two sons. He went through Transformational Community Development (TCD) training, which had a great impact on him. After receiving the training, he planted large amounts of potatoes and other crops. Last year, he had only planted potatoes in a small area. When I went to his field, I saw Mantu collecting many potatoes, so I asked him how long that amount of potatoes could sustain his family. He explained he will not have to buy potatoes for the whole year, and he will also sell them for five quintals (equivalent to 500kg). Now, he is very happy to do the farming.
The tutorial class is going well, and many children are developing their reading and writing skills. A boy named Rakesh studies in third class before coming for tutoring. He was unable to read and write, but within the last three months, he has been coming to class regularly, and now he is able to read and write properly.
Thank you,
