The women of Nhoma Village are contributing resources and planning carefully to protect and cultivate their land.
The women of Nhoma Village, a Portuguese-speaking community in Guinea-Bissau, are determined to pursue a horticulture project. At the most recent Transformational Community Development (TCD) meeting, each woman pledged a metal rod as her personal contribution toward fencing the land, aiming to protect it from damage caused by roaming domestic animals. The measurement of the wire fence required was also noted, and they also drew up a budget of 315,000 CFA ($565) as the cost required to complete the project. Working together on this project is another testament to this community’s drive towards sustainable development.
Thank you!
