Before Transformational Community Development (TCD) arrived to the Old Mosongo community, Mr. Kpandeyege’s life was defined by scarcity and the heavy weight of “just getting by” because he relied on traditional, inefficient farming methods that yielded barely enough to feed his family, let alone sell. Without a steady income, paying school fees for his children was an impossible dream, and medical emergencies were a source of terror.

TCD didn’t just bring supplies; it brought a strategy for a “hand up.” The program focused on five key areas—Water, Food, Wellness, Education, and Income Generation. For Mr. Kpandeyege, the impact, though gradual, is now visible. The TCD champion taught him, and other members of the community, how to properly irrigate their soil and how to practice crop rotation. This enabled the soil to recover nutrients, and now, instead of one meager harvest, he manages a diverse garden. This solved his food insecurity problem, ensuring his family has enough to eat and extra to sell. With his surplus crops, he was also encouraged to join a local savings group. For the first time, he has a small “safety net” of cash. This solved the problem of dependency, giving him the dignity of paying his own way and planning for his children’s education.
