Learning to Forgive

Forgiveness and vulnerability are strengths that foster peace and joy.

A casual profile photo of TCD attendee, Umm Karas. - Learning to Forgive

“I am Umm Karas. My husband and I had a lot of problems in our relationship, and I couldn’t compromise or open up to him after every argument. I felt like my dignity was holding me back and that he should initiate–until I attended the Transformational Community Development (TCD) group. There, I heard lessons about forgiveness, accepting differences, and how to show love to my partner. We had conversations in the TCD group and heard stories that deeply impacted me. At that moment, I asked myself, ‘Why can’t I be like these people, too?’ I started experimenting, time after time, and with every argument, I began choosing to forgive, open up, and de-escalate the situation. I found my home changing, and my husband himself becoming more compassionate and closer to me. I discovered that forgiveness is not a weakness but rather a strength that fosters peace and joy within the home.”

Thank you,
