We are thrilled to report a significant shift in community health this month. Following the implementation of our Transformational Community Development (TCD) program, families are practicing consistent handwashing, water boiling, and the use of biosand filters. The results are tangible: mothers are reporting healthier children, and the number of clinic visits has noticeably dropped.
The heart of this progress is our new biosand filtration system. Introduced just a few months ago to combat contaminated water sources, the system was built through the collective effort and participation of the villagers. Today, it produces over 500 liters of clean water daily—enough to sustain the entire community. Recently, the system encountered minor technical issues. Rather than fixing it for them, our TCD workers coached the local Water Committee through the repair process. This hands-on training ensured the committee now has the skills to maintain and troubleshoot the system independently. The filter is once again working perfectly and is being diligently cared for by the community.
Beyond the physical health benefits, we are seeing a deeper transformation. This project has united the village; there is a newfound sense of hope and a collective belief that they can achieve even greater goals for their households and their community.
Thank you,
