Rana is a 45-year-old woman who went through a difficult marriage that ended in divorce. After the death of her mother, she devoted her life to caring for her three siblings with disabilities—her brothers Ahmad and Walid and her sister Fatima. Moving them from one place to another was extremely challenging, as they shared a single, unsuitable wheelchair. Despite the hardships she faced, Rana continued to carry this heavy responsibility with strength and love.
Our Transformational Community Development (TCD) worker, Martin, heard Rana’s story through one of our partners, and the team arranged a visit to her home. During the visit, the team provided three wheelchairs, each adjusted to meet the specific needs of her siblings. They spent time with Rana, encouraged her, and promised to check on her again. During the follow-up visit, Rana shared that she felt happier and more relieved, as she can now move her siblings more easily and feels much better supported.
Thank you!
