Clean water is the most fundamental necessity for human survival and hygiene. This is a critical issue that Naror, a leader in the Ratchaboot community, has always recognized and prioritized. Driven by a commitment to uplift the quality of life for her community members, she took the initiative to participate in training and learn about clean water management processes under the Transformational Community Development (TCD) Project in order to apply this knowledge for maximum benefit.

Upon acquiring this knowledge and recognizing the vital importance of having clean water for consumption, Naror shared these concepts with a close friend. Sharing a mutual understanding and agreement on the necessity of safeguarding their families’ health, both families decided to proceed with the construction and installation of “Bio-Sand Filters” in their respective households simultaneously. This system utilizes natural filtration principles through layers of sand and gravel—a method that is simple, uncomplicated, and requires no electricity.

The simultaneous development of drinking water quality in both households demonstrates the power of collaboration and the immediate practical application of knowledge. As a result, members of both families now have access to clean and safe drinking water. This strong initiative by Naror and her friend serves as a crucial foundation and a tangible model to inspire awareness. It aims to expand this self-reliant approach to clean water management to other households within the Ratchaboot community in the future.
