Our Yelivo family is celebrating because, for the first time ever, they will get to use a latrine. Prior to this successful project, residents were defecating in the bush, which poses many health risks. The result of this health menace cannot be overemphasized. Families suffer with diarrhea and other diseases because of the practice of open defecation.
To combat this, the Transformational Community Development (TCD) committee raised awareness and educated the community on the benefits of having a good latrine built. This month, Mr. Assit, the district head in the Yelivo community, officially opened the new latrine for the area. Many thanks to the TCD community for making this project a reality, thereby improving sanitation and wellness. We are looking forward to painting the building soon.
Thank you!
