Hope Above Fear
Despite opposition, Sudanese refugees have found hope, comfort, and care.
There is fear among Sudanese families due to arrests and deportation campaigns stemming from their lack of identity cards and residency permits in Egypt.
The children of the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program surprised us with their attendance and commitment to the class despite all the challenges. Their presence today was not just an ordinary attendance but a message of courage and belonging. A young girl Duaa expressed, “In this class, I learned that I have value, that I am loved and cherished, that I should take care of myself and live in peace, and that I believe there is a plan for my life. We will not abandon the TCD class, no matter what the circumstances.”
What the children demonstrated today confirms that the TCD program is not merely an educational space but a safe haven that has instilled in them confidence, hope, and the ability to confront fear with faith and a sense of belonging.
Thank you,
