For many years, the people of Baribeda Village struggled to understand the true value of education. Many parents did not consider sending their children to the government school, believing it was unnecessary. Even when some children were enrolled, they rarely attended regularly. As a result, the village faced a long-standing problem where children were missing essential learning opportunities that could shape their future.
In November, the Transformational Community Development (TCD) committee members began working closely with the community to address this issue. They organized awareness programs for parents, explaining why education is vital and how it can empower both families and the village as a whole. Through discussions, meetings, and encouragement, the parents started to realize that the lack of education was not just a weakness for the children but also for the entire community.
As a result of these efforts, positive changes have already begun. A key step was the establishment of daily tutoring classes, where children could receive additional learning support. Community members were encouraged to participate and support these initiatives, helping children recognize the value of education and making learning a regular part of their daily lives. Five children have resumed attending the government school. Their return marks a hopeful step forward, showing that the village is beginning to embrace education as a foundation for progress and a better future.
