For the first time, many Ngassa farmers, women included, planted rice. During the last planting season, Samuel, our Transformational Community Development (TCD) worker, modeled rice farming. Before he planted his rice farm, he spoke with the farmers about having rice plantations in order to optimize the use of their swampy land.
This year, several farmers decided to plant rice, a deviation from the regular crops they plant, namely onions, maize, and millet. It’s a new experience for the local farmers. The farmers are looking forward to good yields and thanking Samuel and this TCD agriculture initiative.
The Ngassa community is developing and really appreciates the partnership with GHNI. Thank you so much.
Thank you!
