Securing a Stable Food Supply

The shift away from pastoralism and towards modern farming is already showing promising results in the village of Gada Korma.

Thanks to the support of Transformational Community Development (TCD) training, Gada Korma Village is undergoing a remarkable transformation as its residents transition from traditional pastoralism to modern farming. This shift represents a bold move towards securing a stable food supply and reducing the community’s reliance on livestock, which is often threatened by drought and disease.

Through the TCD program, villagers established a model farm where they learned and practiced new farming techniques. This initiative has provided them with the knowledge and skills needed to cultivate crops effectively, offering a practical alternative to their usual way of life. The model farm has become a beacon of progress, demonstrating the potential for agricultural success in a community previously dependent on pastoralism.

As Gada Korma continues to embrace these new methods, the village is on the brink of achieving food security and greater self-reliance. This transformation highlights the power of innovative strategies in building resilience and ensuring a prosperous future for the entire community.
