Our Transformational Community Development (TCD) Education Committee in Attakasikoro has sprung into action to tackle the challenge of inadequate infrastructure for the teeming number of children who attend the village primary school. Currently, there are many more students than the facilities can take. The committee has begun construction of desks and tables with funds donated for the school. It has also suggested a 15% increase in school fees in order to be able to pay teachers’ salaries. This was a suggestion vehemently opposed by parents, causing a row between them.

Fortunately, the row about fees has been settled, more furniture is on the way, and there is the prospect of more income for the teachers. The Attakasikoro school is making progress, bringing immense and immediate benefits, along with long-term benefits, to the entire community.
