Government Provides School Uniforms
One of the lessons we teach is how to petition the government for help.
After the Transformational Community Development (TCD) initiative, Mahan* and Mahith* continued their study in school. They had stopped going to school for a month because of no school uniform. Their school uniform was torn, and parents couldn’t buy new ones for them. Uniforms are compulsory for children. When I got to know their problem, I talked to the rural municipality leader, and he told me the mayor provided school uniforms for Mahan, Mahith, and three other boys. GHNI distributed notebooks and pencils for 39 children as a Christmas gift.
Pavan*, a laborer, suffered from financial problems and had a hard time managing his family expenses. He joined TCD and learned Income Generation. After GHNI provided him some seed money, he started goat keeping. Now he is able to support his family. Now he is happy with his family.
*For the purpose of safety and wellbeing, “Mahan”, “Mahith”, and “Pavan” are pseudonyms for the individuals being helped by this project.
Thank you!
