Education Inspires Change
Education comes in many forms and is not just for children and teens.
Solma, a young girl from Baromasia Village, faced significant challenges in her education. Coming from a farming family, her parents prioritized labor over studies, making it difficult for her to focus on learning. Before joining the tutoring classes, she struggled with reading, writing, and studying at her grade level. Her lack of academic progress made it even harder for her to keep up in school.
To address this issue, tutoring classes with regular morning sessions were started. A dedicated teacher conducted the classes, and additional support was provided when needed. Solma attended these sessions for two months, where she gradually improved in reading and writing. As her progress became evident, her parents recognized the value of education and started sending her to classes consistently. Their attitude toward her studies changed, and they began prioritizing her education over household labor. The positive impact of education extended beyond Solma’s family. The village is seeing a growing awareness of the importance of learning.
Transformational Community Development (TCD) training on farming inspired several villagers to start growing chili and brinjal. People like Silas, Pradhan, and Mantu embraced new farming techniques, bringing gradual change to the village. Education and skill development are now creating a brighter future for the community.
