Trees Help Communities Thrive
Villagers take ownership to improve their environment.
Pakistan is one of the countries that is suffering from extreme urban heat. Likewise, water levels are also decreasing. In past years, we have faced different kinds of environmental challenges. Through the Transformational Community Development (TCD) training, our local village groups started emphasising local ownership to deal with this situation.
In our Self-Help group’s each participant decided to buy two trees and be responsible for taking care of them. This initiative will encourage people to get involved in preserving the natural environment. Trees combat climate change, save water, prevent water pollution, capture rainwater, and as they transpire, they increase atmospheric moisture. Through this initiative, communities will encourage nearby communities to get them involved in this campaign.
Thank you!
