Dependable, Clean Water Supply Brings Joy!
Confidence in their improved water supply encourages development in other areas.
At Ratchaboot Village, the steadfast commitment to “Water Source Protection”—driven by the community’s collective efforts through the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program—has led to a significant increase in their water supply. This abundance has enabled highly efficient “Clean Water Management,” with residents installing Bio-sand Filters to elevate household drinking water standards. While the natural Biofilm layer is currently in its incubation stage, the remarkable clarity of the water has already instilled great confidence throughout the village.
Furthermore, the successful development and protection of the watershed have ensured an ample water supply for this year (the first year this has happened in the history of the village), sparking a growth in home gardening in multiple households. This water is channeled into organic vegetable plots, yielding vibrant produce with exceptional flavor—a testament to the superior quality of the source water. This change shows that when a community experiences transformation in one area of TCD (in this case, water) the impact can flow into other areas of development, leading to positive outcomes that could not have been foreseen.
Thank you!
