Recently, a training program in sewing and tailoring was implemented for the Transformational Community Development (TCD) Women’s Group. Targeting ten women from the Ezbit el Nakhl community, the training focused on teaching the basics of cutting and sewing, the use of a sewing machine, and the skills of tailoring and designing clothes to suit local market needs. During the training period, the participants gained direct practical experience, producing prototypes of ready-made garments, which helped them transform their skills into a future source of income.

Among the trainees, three women expressed a strong desire to develop their own small businesses. They began sewing in their homes, allowing them to work in a comfortable environment and provide additional income for their families. This also contributed to reducing overcrowding and dependence on external sources of income. Manal, a 42-year-old woman, said, “Now I can help my children through this project so we can combat poverty and high prices.”

The project seeks to enhance opportunities for women’s economic empowerment, encourage home-based work as a sustainable and safe option, and create successful female role models that can be emulated within society. This training is a first step toward building practical skills that qualify women to actively participate in the labor market and open new horizons for small, income-generating projects.
