Nancy, a wife and mother of four children, greatly benefited from the introduction of Transformational Community Development (TCD) in Komende. She and her family previously practiced small-scale farming with minimal results, but through the training provided by TCD on innovative agricultural practices, her farm has enjoyed considerable growth and increased in scale.

The TCD concept of Income Generation, and its emphasis on financial education has positively influenced her family to diversify their source of income. They now also engage in small-scale trading in addition to farming. Her children, who were not attending school, are now enrolled, and their education is being comfortably supported by the increase in the family’s finances.

Nancy is just one example among many highlighting how the presence of TCD changes the outlook of communities and enables them to generate ideas for sustainable development, which they often take initiative to pursue without any external assistance.
