A poor woman succeeded in establishing a micro-grocery business with the help of Transformational Community Development (TCD).  Binita*, who had no sources of income and was suffering from financial problems, is now successful in running her own grocery business from her home.

Her financial situation was challenging; doing labor work made it difficult to manage her family’s basic needs and expenses. She had a plan for a grocery shop, but because she had no money to invest, she and her husband were unable to start the business. She didn’t have the funds to purchase the necessary materials. After she joined the TCD training for Income Generation, she was inspired to start her own business, although she still faced financial difficulties. The TCD committee decided to help her with seed money to start a grocery business as a source of income for her family.

She began her business and became successful with the support of TCD. TCD’s teaching, training, encouragement, and a little seed money helped her generate income. She is excited and happy with her business, and her family is also very happy. Now she is earning a good income from her grocery shop. She shared with TCD that she is making significant progress in her income and is much happier than before. She has returned the seed money to the TCD committee. She is inspiring others in the community and wants to encourage them to get involved in TCD activities. She wishes to thank TCD and GHNI.
