Through personal growth and acts of compassion, TCD is transforming lives and strengthening relationships.
Sometimes, transforming a life does not require changing everything at once. A small step, the right guidance, and an open heart can be enough to start a completely new journey. For years, Om Heba struggled with intense stress and emotional pressure. The burdens of daily life weighed heavily on her, and over time she became increasingly irritable and quick-tempered. Her anger often affected those closest to her. Arguments became a regular part of family life, and in moments of frustration she would shout at her children and even find herself speaking words she later regretted. The tension did not stop there. The relationship between her and her husband grew more strained with time. Misunderstandings multiplied, communication broke down, and their home became filled with conflict. At one point, their marriage was on the verge of separation.
Everything began to change when Om Heba joined the Transformational Community Development (TCD) group. Through the sessions, she learned practical ways to manage her anger and emotions. She discovered the importance of listening before reacting, taking a moment before responding, and choosing words that heal instead of words that hurt. More importantly, she realized that real strength is not found in raising one’s voice but in controlling it.
At first, the changes were small. She started applying what she learned one step at a time. She became more aware of her reactions and worked intentionally to break old habits. Gradually, she stopped speaking negatively to her children and began investing time in understanding their feelings and needs. Instead of responding with anger, she learned to respond with patience and care. As the weeks passed, her children noticed the difference. The atmosphere at home slowly changed. Conversations became calmer, relationships grew stronger, and trust began to return. Her husband also saw the transformation. The constant conflicts that once threatened their marriage became less frequent, and mutual respect and understanding started to replace tension and frustration.
Today, Om Heba’s story stands as a powerful reminder that lasting change does not begin with changing circumstances—it begins by changing the heart. What started as a simple decision to learn and grow became the first step toward restoring peace in her home, rebuilding family relationships, and creating a brighter future for those she loves.
Also this month, in a heartwarming act that reflects the values of generosity and compassion deeply rooted in the hearts of children, the TCD group from Ezbet Raphael successfully made a meaningful and inspiring impact through the launch and implementation of their “Seed Project.” The initiative aimed to provide emotional and financial support to fellow children receiving treatment at the Oncology Institute.
The children organized a visit to the Oncology Center, carrying with them messages of love, encouragement, and care. Their support extended beyond kind words and emotional encouragement to include tangible acts of giving. Direct financial support through envelopes containing donations were distributed to help support the families of the sick children, and each child at the institute received a toy and a special gift, bringing joy to their hearts and helping ease the fear and stress associated with illness and treatment.
This visit was a beautiful expression of humanity and compassion. The children of Ezbet Raphael demonstrated a remarkable sense of social responsibility and empathy beyond their years. The initiative left a positive and lasting impression on the children receiving treatment and their families while also receiving great appreciation from the institute’s management and staff. The project served as a powerful reminder that the seed of kindness may begin small, but its fruits can have a lasting and far-reaching impact.
