During the Transformational Community Development (TCD) women’s weekly group, Om Faltaous faithfully attended and openly shared her needs and health challenges with the other women. In one of the meetings, she spoke about her struggle with kidney salt levels, which led the TCD workers to think of a practical way to help ease her suffering and support her health. As a result, the group decided to provide a water filter for her home and arranged a visit to install it. However, during the process, a much bigger and unexpected need came to light. It turned out that her mother-in-law was preparing for a spinal disc surgery, and medical examinations revealed serious kidney problems, making her condition more critical and requiring greater care.

At that moment, the true spirit of love became evident. Om Faltaous requested that the water filter be given to her mother-in-law instead of herself. She said that she could endure the kidney issues, but her mother-in-law was facing surgery and needed it more.

This was a beautiful and practical example of love and self-denial. She chose to put another person’s need before her own, demonstrating genuine sacrifice and reflecting the true meaning of care and compassion within the family.
